That's one thing I love about having a midwife. My son was born with the cord around his neck twice but he is fine now :) they have the lowest c-section rate! But in case of an emergency I understand
That's horrible!! I really wished I would have done vaginal but with all the complications I was having c section was best. If I have another I will try vbac in a heart beat.
My daughter was born on the 2nd and her cord was wrapped twice around her neck. When I was in l&d waiting to be released Thursday every lady in there was being prepped for surgery. There were four in triage with me and 5 in ld rooms waiting. Actually glad she came in an ambulance lol
My mom also delivered my brother vaginally with his cord slightly wrapped around his neck
Yup my friend had a c section and the doc told her in 48 hours he had delivered 23 babies and 21 of them were c sections.....
Yeah I was the same as you, I wasn't ready at all, not dilated at all or anything but my Dr took everything slow so my chances of vaginal were better it took me over 10 hours to get to a 4 it makes for a long delivery but it worked
Unfortunatly it is the way it goes. My mom delivered my two brothers vaginally with hardly any pushing. When it came time to deliver me she pushed and I didn't come and finally after pushing forever I came out with a very short cord wrapped around my neck. It can be done but it is very dangerous and had my moms doctor known about the cord I would have been a c section baby. Sometimes things work out in your favor. Who knows how difficult of a birth you would have had had the doctor allowed you to deliver vaginally.
In the USA 1/3 of births are c section s and if your induced your chance of a section jumps to 2/3. Its really sad. My doc wanted to induce me and I refused just because of the odds. And the American college of gynecology doesn't recommend induction s of ftm because they routinely fail.
