Pregnancy chances after negative blood test?

Hi,
It's 7 weeks exactly after the first day of my last menstruation. I done 2 home pregnancy tests, on the first day of expected menstruation and one 3 days later, both faint lines but positive. Besides that I have experienced heavy pregnancy symptoms: Nausea (some days bad, others none, vomiting once only); Extreme fatigue since 1 week after ovulation til current; Hunger; Frequent urination since 2 weeks after ovulation; Back ache, Dizziness (especially when standing long); Food aversions & cravings; Enlarged breasts (gone up about a cup size in 3 weeks); Sore & heavy breast since ovulation; Small bumps on areolas; Frequent headaches. All went well til blood test was done on Saturday which turned out negative??? I don't understand this? Shouldn't the blood test pick up even if my levels are low? It should be quite high around 7 weeks? I'm soo confused. The doc didn't even do an u/s or medical examination or anything? What can cause breast enlargement? Please help, I'm going crazy!!!

Your right if indeed you were 7 weeks gone even a HPT would be accurate,a blood test is the most accurate test you could have it would show positive by now.it detects very low levels of Hcg,your doctor obviously hasnt done a scan,as they think your not pregnant due to blood test results.its possible you dont ovulate properly, this will prevent you from having a period.you need to ask your doctor for other tests in order to work out why your not having your periods.try a digital.

Thank you so much for your reply and the advice. I have used 2 different brands but both with pink dye and I made sure that I checked the response within the time limit. The second line appeared within seconds both times. I have done many many tests before and this is the first time since I had my m/c about 5 years ago that even a faint line appeared. And I haven't had evap lines on them before that's why I don't understand this? I just think the doc should have at least done an u/s to make sure everything is still allright and that it was just a weird fluke or something...

False negative results are more common than false positive. What type of test were you using? If it was a test with blue dye test I would go out and get a different test like the First Response, they use pink dye, and are less likely to have an evaporation line (false positive), or but a digital.

Try and do another blood test and request an ultra sound. Good luck
