Pregnant. First appointment anxiety.

I know I probably come off as a baby but I am so deathly afraid of having my blood drawn. Does anyone know if you have to have it done your first visit? And how many times through out your pregnancy. Thank you!

You prob will on the first for sure to check hormone levels but not sure how many times thru out sometimes could depend if they need to do a special test or recheck somethin. Just take a deep breath as they put the needle in and blow out slowly. You can do it mama!

I didn't have any blood drawn the first time. But right before i had my appointment i was in the er.

So far I've had my blood drawn 3 times.  You'll have to get it drawn again between 24-28 weeks for your glucose test.  You'll get it drawn a few times but it'll be okay momma! It's all worth it for your little one!

You're not alone with that girl. I turned ghos white when my doctor said she was sending me to lab to get blood drawn. I was also shaking. But its not as bad as i thought. Lol. I was like oh man why was i so scares. You'll be fine momma they just gotta make sure you and baby are fine :)

I got mine drawn the first appointment but I knew I would.  I had to do my glucose test my first appointment and they checked all my levels. I am 22 weeks and have had blood drawn 2 times so far.

Im terrified of needles too, but you need to get it done. I had them let me lay down and I covered everything but my arm in my jacket and got comfortable. My boyfriend wasnt able to go that time so a medical assisntant held my hand...and I cried before the needle even went in! It ended up not even being that bad at all. I felt more embarrased by the way I cried than anything. Tell them you want a butterfly needle, it's smaller!

I was like you my first pregnancy. If you are having a normal pregnancy then your blood maybe drawn 2-3 times. Trust me after delivery you will be over your fear of blood work. I still fear IVs and epidural but I know it will be fine and completely worth it ones she's here.

I hate having my blood drawn too. I feel like I'm losing too much blood .
