Pregnant

Hello everyone...I have a question and I realize it isnt going to be an easy one to answer. I just found out that I am pregnant...but I have not had a period since October 1, 2008. I think I am a little over 4 weeks and I go in for my first appointment on Friday. I had a brain tumor removed last year so they just want to check things over to make sure everything is safe. Do you think there is a high right of miscarrying since I have not had a period in the last several months? Do the chances in miscarriages increase when you dont have a period the month before conceiving?

Not having a period for a few months does not make you high risk. There are plenty of women that have irregular periods, and get pregnancy everyday with healthy baby's. It only means it's going to be that much harder to figure out your due date. They will have to do an ultrasound and measure the baby. And also they can find out by doing a blood test and see where your horemone levels are at to get an idea of how far along you are.

Good luck!

No...doesn't seem like there is an increased risk for mc.  Good luck with your appointment on Friday!
