Question about hcg levels??

I had a MC in July and my cycles have been screwy every since so I'm not 100% sure when I O'd. I had my last period Nov 28. I took a HPT 26 Dec and it was positive. I went to the dr and had them confirm the results with a urine test. B/c I had MC in July we decided to have my hcg checked. I went this past monday (5wks 2d) and wed (5wks 4d). Monday was 10500 and wed was 14500. When my dr called me today to tell me, he said he was worried b/c it didn't double. He asked if I was cramping or bleeding and I said no. He said that's a good thing and things could still be ok but he wants me to have a u/s done tomorrow at 10am. I am so worried!! Has anyone dealt with this before and everything be ok? Is there still a chance the baby is fine and healthy?

sorry I'm just not gettin back but after the u/s I was so upset I didn't wanna talk about it and I decided to keep my self busy preparing for my Scentsy party.
I had the u/s done and was told the fetus measured 5-6 wks but there was no heartbeat. I was told to expect miscarriage I'm devasted but trying to keep faith. I go in on Wed to have more blood drawn to see where my levels are. If they are going up then I'll have another u/s done.

I'm not a doctor, either, but Victoria01 is right as far as I know.

This is from Babymed.com: As your pregnancy develops, the increase slows down significantly. Between 1,200 and 6,000 mIU/ml serum, the hCG usually takes about 72-96 hours to double, and above 6,000 mIU/ml, the hCG often takes over four or more days to double. It makes little sense to follow the hCG values above 6,000 mIU/ml as at this point the increase is normally slower and not related to how well the pregnancy is doing.

Good luck with your ultrasound!

I am not a doctor, but I have always heard that with numbers that high, they don't usually double. The fact that they are increasing is a very good sign. Try to relax, which I know is easier said than done, and keep us posted after the ultrasound. Good luck!
