Riding horse while pregnant

I'm almost 9 weeks pregnant. I've known for 2 weeks and have still been riding my horse. I've read horror stories about women riding pregnant but also read about women who rode up to 8 months pregnant. Anyone have experience with riding while pregnant? Any complications? I'm not concerned with being kicked or anything like that, I know my horse, just concerned with the act of riding.

My doctor made me stop riding after the first trimester just because of the risk of falling off or something going wrong. And then the jolting around if your doing trotting or more isn't good for the babies head/brain is what I was told!

I stopped riding at 20 weeks, but carried on going up to the Yard until about 37 weeks. Had my baby on my due date with no problems at all. 5 week's postpartum now and can't wait to get back on!

I also rode prior to becoming pregnant. And honestly I took the 'anything that can go wrong will go wrong' approach. I wasn't worried about being kicked but even a spooked horse might cause an unexpected fall.  I'm assuming light riding that keeps you from bouncing too much is probably safe, but I quit around 15 weeks when my belly started to grow. I felt unbalanced anyway and would rather be safe than sorry.
