Sharp pain on right side of chest with every breath in

Around 1:30 this afternoon I started experiencing a VERY sharp pain every time I inhaled. The deeper the breath the sharper the pain. It started to lighten up so I went to work at 3. Well it's now 10:20pm and the pain is worse. I get off work at 11 and heading to the hospital.

I called L&D they told me to either come in or call my Dr. I tried to call my Dr and I got no response from the on call Dr. and I left two messages.

Has anyone else experienced this type of pain and been fine?

I'm just worried because a few weeks ago when I went to Dr for swelling I was told that sharp pain on right side could be sign of pre eclampsia

I woke up this morning and felt a little bruised but the pain was nearly gone. I spoke to my chiropractor today about it and he explained what it most likely was. Made a lot of sense but man did it hurt.

When I got to hospital they hooked me up and monitored me for about a half hour. They talked with the dr on call at my dr office. Which there are only 2 Drs and of course it's not my Dr on call.

I was given some pain meds and monitored for about an hour and the pain seemed to be better so they released me but by the time I was dressed again the pain was back and sharp again. They still sent me home.

I was told most likely it's a foot pushing on my diaphragm. I really hope she moves and fast.  I'm not in a lot of pain this morning although there is some discomfort. I can now take a deep breath without thinking I'm gonna pass out from the pain.

I get sharp pains in my chest if I'm stressed, anxious or exhausted. Sometimes they last for hours, especially if I'm at work. Once I sit and relax for awhile, it usually goes away. Let us know what your Dr. says.

I don't think I put my back out I see a chiropractor regularly for my hips and he adjusts my back too. Although I was on my feet all day packing boxes yesterday and today. Were in the middle of moving. I haven't lifted any boxes I just pack them full then BF takes care of moving them.

I know I would get the feeling like I was having a heart attack, pretty sore and I had to take a breath.  I found out it was hurting because I put my back out - could that be it???
