The flu shot will not make you sick, if you happen to get sick its coincidental. The flu vaccine is a dead virus and therefore cannot cause disease. Many people will claim that is makes them sick however the timing for the flu vaccine is poor. Vaccines work by forcing your body to build antibodies towards the pathogen in the vaccine, however while your body is doing this your immune system is preoccupied for a couple weeks leaving you vulnerable to other illnesses that happen to be going around at that time. I will be getting my flu vaccine and Tdap at my next appt and I'll be making my husband get them as well. It's in the best interest of your baby to be vaccinated.
Okay cause I've heared that it the flu shot makes people sick
I got tdap. I'm a teacher so I get it often to update it. Always makes me a bit sick, but I also did my glucose test that day (which if you can avoid it, don't do it on the same day.) I refused to get the flu shot. Makes my husband sicker than a dog when the military makes him get it and it almost killed my grandpa last time he got it. My doctor said just to make sure I was washing my hands frequently, taking prenatal and vitamin c and to stay away from people who were sick. This was during my first trimester and I never got sick (minus morning sickness).
