Should I go in now or wait it out???? {worried at 39wks}

I am over 39wks now and for the past few days I have noticed that my baby is not moving quite as much. He moves just its not often and its not 10kicks in 1 hr. His movements were MUCH MUCH stronger at about 30wks then they are now. I am worried very much. I just dont know if its ok or if I should be concerened. Do I need to contact the doctor, labor and delivery. I am worried and want to know my baby is ok. PLEASE any advice is so greatly apreciated. Thank you all.

I agree with the others, if your worried then go! It isn't very healthy to stress so much while pregnant, although things are probably okay with your baby, making sure he is okay and relieving yourself of the stress is all worth it.

I agree with the others.  If you are worried than go!!!  Dont wait it out!  To ease your mind though, the space in there gets very tight and they arent as able to kick as much later in the pregnancy.  Dont let this statement talk you out of calling or going to the doctor!

i would definitely call the doctor to ease your mind.  although all of my friends tell me that is a sign that baby is coming VERY soon!!  i have many signs that my girl is coming soon, but she is still so active and that is the only thing that leads me to believe that i will be pregnant forever!!  my friends said that their babies slowed down considerably 1-5 days before delivery.

I am 39w 5d and i recently experienced the same thing. I went about two days without very much movement and it really worried me (this bub has always been very active). I got my partner to put his head on my belly to hear the heartbeat (he has been able to do this for a while now) and assess whether it was normal. It still didnt put my mind to rest so i rang LnD and thy seemed to think it was fairly normal. I'd recommend calling or going in for yourself though because i know how you feel and you wont feel better until youve heard first hand that your bub is ok.

i am 40 weeks today n the same thing happens to me. The movement has slowed down and tomorrow i am going to have 'stress test' done on the baby to see whether he is doing okay in there, If there is sign of distress, we will probably go ahead with induction. I am still hoping that he comes on its own but i dont want to put my baby in any dangerous situation neither, so we will see how it goes tomorrow.

i am sure everything is fine for you and good luck!

Well the on call dr. called me and told me to keep my 9:30am appt. with my doc and see if she wants to send me to get the stress test done. I got him to move a lil and she said as long as its 5kicks every hour then he's ok. not to worry to much. So so far I am trying not to worry and hoping that everything goes well for tonight. He's usually a lil more active* during my sleepy times anyway. I just want him out here so I can see that he is ok.

*diela* Good Luck tomorrow I hope everything goes well and he is going to come all on his own. And Thank you!

Thank you all very very much!!!!

I remember I was worried about my baby's movement towards the end as well. She was not moving nearly as much as she did when she had more room in there. I went in on a Thursday for an NST and everything was fine. My water broke a few days later on Saturday!
