getting a new job while pregnant

So I'm not sure about this but I'm in the process to get a new job and I'm only 12 weeks pregnant. Do I have to tell them of my pregnancy or am I allowed to keep it from them? I don't want it to prevent me from getting a position.

U dont have to tell them anything. If u get the job tell them right  away but u dont have to tell them at ur interview. If u get the job and they let u go and they know ur preggers its illegal for them to do that. Ur only 12 weeks u have a long way to go by the time u have ur baby u will have a good six months with them.

I personally think that you should let them know at your interview as it is really unfair to the employer who hires you if they don't know beforehand, you should give them the full facts especially because you will be leaving to go on maternity leave it will really screw over the employer and the people you have just started working with.

Yeah I'm just nervous because I had to quit my other job because of sexual harassment that was not being solved and I couldn't emotionally deal with it anymore. So I NEED a job and need to start saving money for my baby and me to have a better life. And my two interviews are both tomorrow and I feel positive about them(: I just don't want to be barred because of my being pregnant.

I had an interview yesterday, it was 0 out so I wore my jacket the entire time...today I was offered the position. Im showing quite abit for being 20 weeks. I haven't decided when I'm going to tell them but I will because I do have doctor visits often.

I was in that position at almost the same place you are. I told one employer I was pregnant and the entire mood of the interview changed. No job. My other interviews I was showing and couldnt hide it, no job. My belly was glanced at a few times during one. I decided if I got another interview I would dress so it would not show, and inform them about a month before I was due. I would have to be an outstanding worker until then so they couldn't have some phoney excuse to fire me, but since you do not have to inform them, at any point when you decide it is the right time to, it is a courtesy you are giving them. But it benefits you too.

I'm almost 20 weeks and I'm looking also. I don't plan to tell them until after the hiring process. A lot of places won't hire you if your pregnant. Its illegal to fire someone because they are pregnant. I would strongly suggest you not say anything until after your officially hired.

I don't believe you have to tell them anything about being pregnant. Its not illegal to not tell them. I think you will be okay if you don't tell them :) good luck.

I shouldn't have to at either place I am interviewing. I just wasn't sure what legalities of any there were.

Hi. When I was 12 weeks pregnant. I was starting a new job as well... I kept mine a secret until I started showing more. (I'm huge for 27+1) its your choice but be careful if you have to lift anything!
