Stripping Membrane?

So I'm due tomorrow and my doctor talked about stripping my membrane last time I visited with him. I'm not sure if I should I know women can go two weeks over and I don't know why my Doctor is so eager to do this....
Has anyone experienced having their membrane stripped?

I had my membranes stripped with my first son and went into labor 12 hours later. I've also heard it's a 50\50 chance it'll help. I didn't have pain when getting it done just slight discomfort. This is my 2nd pregnancy and if given the option I would get my membranes swept.

I did some research and the webpage I found says it works 50% of the time. It's basically seperating the bag of water from the cervix. The doctor does this using their fingers. Also you're right it doesn't work all of the time, but it can be painful.
