Stroller Question

My mother in law wants to buy us a stroller and since it is our first child we don't really know anything about the different brands.  Anyone have any suggestions on what brands are the best?

I agree that the carseat/stroller combos are great.  No need to wake the baby, just snap them into the stroller and go.  You can also use the stroller without the carseat, although it is better for when the baby is older.
I don't know what brand to recommend, but I would look for:
-cup holder or tray on top (for you)
-good size basket on bottom
-easily to fold up

I got the combo carseat and stroller made by Chicco. They are a little pricier but the stroller is very sturdy and also lightweight, and the infant carseat goes all the way up to 30 pounds instead of the regular 22 pounds with others. I really liked this stroller and carseat and would definitely recommend it without hesitation.

The only thing with Walmart is that you cannot test drive the strollers...they are up high on risers and they are also zip tied down...same deal with Target...SO, I still recommend at least browsing at babies r us so you can get a first hand experience with the stroller you might potentially be using!

Try looking on craigslist. com .  You can get one for cheap on there.  I always look for every thing on there before going out to buy it new.  Wal-Mart is cheaper than Target and Babies r us.  Shop around.

My husband and I went to babies r us and we were able to test drive all the strollers...I think you should go and see them first hand for yourself so that you can choose one that turns corners well, it lightweight, has a carseat that snaps in and out easily, is easy to fold up or open up.

The combos are not what I would consider inexpensive...ours was over $200...and most of them were in that price range HOWEVER you are getting a stroller AND a carseat.

Good luck with your choice!

I like the Evenflo travel systems better than the Graco travel systems because they have the "Z" handle.  Go to this link...  ( close the gaps)

If you go to wal-mart.com you can look at customer reviews.  Anita

I've used Graco and Evenflo and I like Evenflo's carseats better. I believe they also have higher safety ratings. I found Graco's buckles to be really hard to open and it's also hard to move the handle. My SIL also had Gracos and she liked my Evenflo stuff better. I had to agree. Evenflo's buckles and handles were just much easier to use.

Travel systems are the way to go- it's a matching carseat and stroller. The strollers are pretty bulky but usually fold up nice.

I have found one travel system that I LOVE at BabiesRUs:

Gracos are awesome, I would recommend going to target or babies r us where they actually have the strollers out for you to try, that way you can wheel some around and see what you like best.
I go on walks all the time and have never had a problem with mine. We have walked in parks that don't have very clear trails and they can go over pretty much everything.

So are these strollers easy to push when going on walks and stuff.  Are they easy to manuveur??  I also want a carseat system that comes with the carseat but I want it to be a stroller that is good for walking also.

I like the car seat/stroller combos. Together they are pretty inexpensive, and they are so handy. I agree with GRose with the Graco strollers.

I like the graco strollers since the car seat snaps in and out very easily and they have a decent sized basket on the bottom to lug your stuff around.
