Pregnancy test and Medication

Hello
I had a home test on day 31 early morning, but before sleeping i have drunk 3 cups of water and the result was negative
my period is 27 , 32 or 35 days the last 3 months were 27 days

I am taking tegretol medicine daily 500 mg daily

last intercourse was on day 9 after my previous period i am anxious as we were not planning for pregnancy now and i have read that tegretol may affect the result and give false negative
any help please

I checked it out and it says it may intefere with the test results. I would call my doctor and see about getting a blood test which is the only accurate way at this point. Good Luck.

I've read and heard Tegretol can affect a test. You need to see a doctor for a blood test to determine if pregnancy is true or not. You did have sex at a good time to get pregnant, so you would need to be seen.

i drank 3 cups around 500 ml but before sleeping and then after like 5 hours in the morning i had the test and it was negative
I don't know if water can affect result specially before 5 hours

In addition i am anxious about the medicine Tegretol can it affect the result ??

if you drank alot of water it could give you false results because your urine is diluted.
