Thinking about a home water birth for my baby, has any one had one?

please share your experience!!! i have 2 girls 5 and 4 years old, both natural births oldest 9 days late was 9lb 7oz 9 hours natural labour with use of petherdine and gas for the pain, second birth born due date was 7lb 14oz 1 hour birth natural labour no drugs at all.. both births were at different places. Now i live in in new zealand in christchurch and since our Devasting february earthquake i have been informed st georges hospital which is where i had my 2nd birth is now closed to be pulled down, they also did water births. i wanted to go back then when i get pregnant again..
so ive had no complication history with breach or anything like that.. so i think home birth will be fine.
the midwife i also have for my baby is same as i had with 2nd child and they are firm on the no drugs policy unless really needed so no need to be in hospital. plus theres a hospital down my st 2 min drive if need be

Thanks for posting this Leesha! I just found out a local midwifery does water births and I'm very interested in going that route, assuming this one sticks. Probably at birth center not home though since it would be first delivery, but I can't stand hospitals; they freak me out. Sounds like this might not be a bad option.

My sil did a home water birth and it wasn't the best experience.  The labor was fine but they ended going to the hospital a couplr hours later cause the baby was not getting good color or temps...  It was her first tho.  I would imagine with no bad birth history you will be fine.  Especially with a hospital close.  Good luck!
