My aunt had hers burnt I believe and she says her periods got lighter. And they can't legally steralize you unless you consent to it. They can not force you to quit having kids. Advise against it, yes, force it, no.
If you want them cut they can cut them while in there. They've done it before but ask your doctor to be sure.
Thanks for replying. . . . . . sorry i meant to say I really want them to but Im worried about the heavier periods and will the recovery of my c-section be longer etc? i really dont want any more children after this one Xx
Im really glad you posted this question cmarie, because I was wondering the same thing. I'm 26 and haven't been able to take birth control since I had my 4 yr old, and since my husband and I don't want anymore after this one I've been tossing the idea around as well.
I had a tubal ligation immediately after my c-section when my third child was born in November. I can't answer about the periods being heavier or lighter because I haven't had one yet (I'm breastfeeding) but the recovery from the c-section was not longer because of having the ligation. You do have to sign a consent for the ligation as other people have said as well. I was on the pill for 7 years then got pregnant right away with my first child and I've been pregnant or breastfeeding since then. I haven't had a normal period since December 2007, so I'm really scared to see how it is when I don't have the pill or hormones affecting it!!!
I want ask if I still get pregnant while got my tubes tied please help I really try to have another baby
