Very High HCG Levels

Last Monday I had my first HCG blood test. Based on my LMP I should have been 5 weeks. My results came back at 8015. That Thursday (3 days later) I tested again and my levels were 18037. Are my numbers too high? Could I possibly be having multiples? I have never had any type of fertility treatments. Last summer I had 2 miscarriages back to back and my levels were never higher than 900 and they never doubled. I have also had 2 miscarriages after 20 weeks which means I will be having a cerclage as well. I am so nervous, but very optimistic because at least my numbers are doubling. In the ultrasound the doctor could only see a sac but he said it looks healthy. Do you think he's just trying to make me feel better?

I wouldn't count it out yet. At four weeks one day which actually would of been five weeks one day (they changed my due date later on) my Hcg was 8395 and I am indeed carrying twins. Now it is very possible to have numbers that high and not be but just wanted you to know there is a chance. I am currently 11 weeks and everything is looking great

Hi!  I think we're in the same boat.  Last July 21 (Mon), I was at 4 weeks 6 days from LMP and my HCG levels were at 4,885.  3 Days later, July 24 (thu), my HCG levels were at 14,342.  I was really concerned because the HCG levels seem pretty high compared to the averages I've seen on the internet, but my doc said that I'm having a healthy pregnancy even when i do get cramps and occassional spotting.

Does anyone know of someone who's had those high hcg levels and had perfectly healthy babies? =)

I'm curious how you're doing now since it looks like we have the same HCG count...  =)

no they seem fine.  remember women can vary with their numbers as long as they are rising.  congrats.

i am only 4 weeks and had my first one and it was 46 then 3 days later it jumped to 214, which is way more than double.  we must just be on the quicker scale of things.
