Viable Pregnancy

2/1/08 - My lmp was 12/13/07 according to that date I should be 7 weeks 1 day pregnant.  I had an ultrasound done last Friday and there was a sac, but it only measured 4 weeks 5 days.  The sac also showed to be irregular shaped.  I have had spotting now for 2 weeks and a little bit of cramping.  The blood is mostly seen after I go to the bathroom.  IThe blood has been a dark bown sometimes pinkinsh in color.  I did have one day when I wiped after going to the bathroom where it was a bright red, but it was very minimal.  That day I also had approx a teaspoonful of red blood in the toilet.  I   have had 3 hcg tests done.  My levels continue to increase, but they do not double in the 48 hour period.  I have another ultrasound scheduled for 2/4/08.  Could my due date have been calculated wrong?  Do I have a vialable pregnancy?  Do I have a blighted ovum?  My Dr thought after my first ultrasound that I could have a blighted ovurm.  The waiting is terrible.  I don't know what to do or think.  After I got the results on Wednesday from my last hcg test the nurse told me I needed to wait for the ultrasound to see what is going on.  After that we could see what our options are.  What does that mean????

OH AWESOME!  You saw a heartbeat!  I'm so happy for you!  Although I'm sure you're still nervous, this is such a good sign!

Hey!  I had my second ultrasound yesterday and the technician actually showed me the screen this time.  I was able to see the little flicker of a heart beat.  What a relief!  She thinks I am only about 5 weeks, but can't tell an exact date yet.  I have to go back in two weeks for a third ultrasound.  The technician hopes at that time she will be able to give me a better calculation on my due date.  It was such a relief to be able to see a heartbeat.  I hope we are able to figure out a due date soon.  When I was there 10 days ago the technician thought at that time I was 4 weeks 5 days and now she is saying I am maybe 5 weeks.  I just worry that I am not measuring as to where I should be or the baby is not progressing as it should.  So many worrys!  I am still very nervous as I am still having the dark brown spotting.  I am going on three weeks for the spotting.  I have an appointment tomorrow with my OB so hopefully he will be able to give me some insight on my spotting.  Thanks for thinking of me!

Thanks for the website.  My Dr's office gave me my counts yesterday for my three tests.  I am going to check it out.

You may be off in calculations......also, they say Hcg should double in 48 hours, but for some it's 72 hours.....so keep your chin up!  Everything may very well be fine!

I had something similar. The u/s specialist didnt say anything about being irregular but according to my last cycle I should be 9 weeks 2 days, and she measured the baby at 7 weeks 1 day yesterday. She was able to find a heart beat, but I was still 2 weeks less along than calculated. I dont know if this helps or not, I wish you the best.

I have had the same thing my hcg levels are going up but I had a irregular sac on the ultrasound. They think I might have a blighted ovum also. I have to wait until Wednesday for another ultrasound. To see if it is viable the waiting is so hard not knowing wether  to be positive or to set up for failure so there is no disappointment. I hope everything works for both of us. I know what your going through.
