I'm in nyc and work for the City you receive 6 weeks for vaginal delivery and 8 wks for c-section and receive paid disability. After your weeks are up you can use your annual and comp time you accrued and be paid. Speak with your HR department on agency policy also look into if your agency has disability insurance
I got paid leave, 8 weeks, and had to take it due to my c-section, they wouldn't release me earlier, (NOT that I wanted to, haha) but if you have a vaginal birth I can't see why they won't allow you to go back earlier!
I'm.going back in 3 weeks part time doing medical assistant and then working from.home as surgery coordinater love my job I.didn't want to be fulk time. My daughter will be .9 weeks we also don't get paid leave.
The one Dr wanted me back after 4 weeks lol, they weren't going to make me get cleared.
Things will definitely be tighter with me not working but I'm already stocking up on things like diapers bath stuff clothes things blankets so things will hopefully not be so hard I spend about a hundred a paycheck and we don't even know what we are having lol
9-10 Months is a long time. most places only do up to 3 months
I wish I could be a stay at home mommy, but its just not possible. And my work doesn give paid maternity leave, if they did I would not go back sooner. But we need both incomes.
6 weeks?? Gosh that's not long...I've got around about 9-10 months fully paid maternity leave coming up...I dunno how I'd go after only 6 weeks!
Yea most of the girls I work with are going to the same doctor BC she will release you as long as your healing good. I'm going to be a stay at home mommy after my baby is here
Most doctors won't release u back to work until atleast 6 weeks. some doctors will release early if u r healing properly. I'm taking 3 months off.
Okay. Thank you. Im actually switching back to my previous job after my son is born. Id love to take 6 weeks but we cannot afford it
I believe your employer has to legally give you time off but alot of girls I work with have talked about trying to get there doctors to let them come back after 3 weeks. I'm also in Ohio. I think they have to give you 6to8 weeks off unless your doctor gives the okay to go back early.
