What due date should I go by?

My last period was on March 27th. That would make my due date 1/1/11. The past two ultrasounds I've had show the baby to be almost a week ahead and from this they are calculating my due date to be 12/26. What date should I go by?

With my son last year, I actually had him on the EXACT day that the early ultrasounds measured... and that was 6 days earlier than my LMP due date calculation.

Go by the ultrasound it is THE most accurate way of dating an early pregnancy.  You may have ovulated late or implanted later than would be expected from your LMP.  Calculating due dates is not an exact science but going by the measurements of your ultrasound can give you a pretty close idea.

My due date from the Dr was calculated based on my lmp which was March 27. The US calculated my due date to be 12/26. ITs just really confusing because I don't know how far along I am. The Ultrasound did not match the due date calculated by my lmp.  Im just as confused!!

When you say DR gave you due date do you mean by Ultrasound. Cuz your LMP and Dr's due date are different by a good amount. However on ultrasound did it match the due date from them ot LMP? ?

Cuz with mine its a good 2 week difference. Thier Due date was Dec 17th putting me at 12 weeks. But yesterday on t he ultrasound she said I was 10 weeks and Due Dec 30th.

Im confused how I could have ovulated 2 weeks late!!  But the ultrasound doesnt lie!
Im confused by this.

My LMP is Feb 25 and my due date is dec 1st. My ob confirmed my due date after I went for the finger stick test and measurement of the baby when I was 12wks. 1/1 sounds about right, but ob said sometimes ppls comes early or a little late. I won't stress about it, since that time is holiday so you prolly don't even need to use a lot of vaca days.

I have always went by my LMP. And I have always been right. I was due according to docs with my oldest son March 3rd 04...but my LMP was Feb 18th. I had him Feb 19th. With my middle son my LMP said Feb 20th...docs said March 10th....I had my son Feb 16th

And with my youngest son my due date from LMP was October 14th...docs date was October 29th...I had my youngest son on the exact date from my LMP October 14th.

I am pregnant again, my LMP date is Christmas Eve....and thats what I'm sticking with despite what the docs say.

Oh well get this, my ultrasound gave me 10 weeks with a due date of Dec 30th!!
And my last period was March 12th. Talk about messed up!! I did have a flu in April that may have screwed up my cycle it's my only explaination.

But I tell you it's nice to see that baby and hear it's heartbeat!!

Yeah MY LMP was March 12th. And come April 12th i got BFN, I tested twice that week, neg. Then on the 19th I started getting a positive. come the 22nd the Doc sent me for blood tests as his test was faintly showing too. When I got the beta back it showed 3 weeks where I should have been 4. So me too i'm not 100% convinced on my due date. Ive been told Dec 17-18-19. But if I go with the beta its more the 23rd.

I'm getting my first u/s on Thursday and whatever it says I will stick to.

I have had several ultrasounds too and have had 2 due dates, they say that going by the first ultrasound is the most accurate, because you may ovulate earlier or later than you thought. the first ultrasound would show the biggest difference becasue growth changes from weeke to week are huge in the first trimester, versus when you are 6 months along babies can very a lot just depending on if they are a big or a small baby! Good luck and Congratulation!

Well, I would deff go by the ultra sound date... I had my LMP march 23 which would make me about 10 weeks or so but I guess I ovulated later because according to my ultra sound I am only 8 weeks, 1 day! So... the ultra sound is the MOST accurate in determining your due date!!

the LMP is used to get an idea cause you can ovulate erlier or later than day 14, LMP is not accurate for everyone, you shoul deffenetley go by the one on the ultrasound wich is the one that is accurate and the one that your DR is gonna use. so your Due date is 12/26.

I also had two different due dates. According to my LMP i am due Sept 23, but at my 11 week us I was told I was a week ahead, because the due dates are within a 7 day range, the doc kept my due date at Sept 23 just to be safe.

Go with the ultrasound as it is more accurate at dating than going by your LMP

Well I would go by which ever on your OB doctor is going by.  I also have had two due dates although they are not as far apart as yours.  My first one was Nov. 10th and then due to me having longer periods they changed it to Nov. 13th even though the baby was measuring bigger than that.  It was measuring a day over even the Nov. 10th due date.  So they just told me to go by the Nov. 13th due date because that is the one that matches my cycles.  I am not sure which one your OB will have you go by.  Congratulations on your pregnancy.

I would go with your own date and then if it arrives early that will an unexpected bonus!! Im a bit like yourself Ive had several scans, very nerve wrecking time!! Ive woke up this morning and my breast tenderness seems to have disappeared!! I wish I had a crystal ball lol, I suppose some people would say im lucky as Ive had no pregnancy symptoms at all!!

Just had a scan on thurs and it showed everything to perfect so you think that would help ease my mind lol..

Good luck xxx

You're in only 9 weeks pregnant and you have had several ultrasounds?  If you had an ultrasound in your 7th week, that would be best as far as dating the pregnancy using ultrasounds goes.
