When should I stop exercising?

I an 23+ and my pregnancy is completely normal. I am still keeping up with work and my Salsa dancing.  I love to dance and I always feel good after my training sessions, I feel it gives me so much energy.  However, this week my midwife advised that I should put dance on hold, cause I shouldn't take the risk of pre-term labor.  I really don't feel like stopping just yet, and from what I've read online, keeping active is ready good.  Should I listen to my midwife or follow my guts?  Any other mommies keep active out there? When are you planning to stop?

Thank you, yes I do feel like I should continue.  I am being cautious and taking it easier.  I had my 20th week anatomy scan and my little one is looking gorgeously normal.@ aigneelashay , how long after delivering your first baby did wait to go back dancing?

I would go with your gut. The pretty standard rule about exercise is that as long as you do not have a high risk pregnancy then you can maintain the level of activity your body is used to in its pre pregnancy state.  I know girls who still jogged around the block out lifted lightly. I worked up until baby came,  waking around in my feet for 10 hr days (with lunch and breaks obviously) but I even lifted up to 20# boxes to stick at my store.  Id day take it a little easier as you get further along but definitely no reason to stop cold turkey unless your midwife considers you to be highrisk.  I think you're body knows when it's too much.

Exercise is good, im a dance teacher & this is my second pregnancy I danced competitively during my entire pregnancy with my first born & he was a healthy 6lbs 11oz born at 37 weeks & this time around I've been dancing & teaching & I feel amazing so I'd say as long as you feel good continue doing it you know your limits better than anyone
