When was your baby born?

I wanted to know when your child was born. It feels like i'll be going into preterm labor anyday now.. I think by 35w. I'm seen at a good hospital so I'm not too scared about it, but I want him to bake as long as possible/

If your baby was born around 33-35w what problems did he/she face?

thanks ladies,
and Riot maybe your right, it could be that becuase TJ came early (altho I wasn't in labor..) I'm thinking this lo will be here early.

I was a 34weeker myself, and never even needed oxygen. I spent time in the hospital due to the infections that accompany the skin disorder.

I guess we'll just see when this lil guy wants to make his appearance (and if the contractions get too worrisome I'll go in to have them stopped of course)

THANKS!

I was born 5 weeks early, and the only problem I had was that I had jaundice pretty bad. I stayed in the nicu for 8 days, and then went home happy and healthy! I was little, but boy was I fat too!  I had rolls, and only weighed 6 lbs!

try not to worry so much! i infact had a feeling that i was going to have my baby girl preterm and i did! she was 2 months early (32 weeks) at first she had apnea and had to be put on a vent that would make her breath when she stopped breathing on her own, but she grew out of that within a week, but her main problem was jaundice! she was in the nicu a total of 5 weeks, but hse is now 11 weeks and is doing so great! hang in there though...you're baby will be fine!! you just gotta have faith!

Personally, I think you'll make it too! I was SURE DS was coming early... from like 24 weeks on!! I had PTL and a + FFN! But, he was induced at 36 weeks... 2 weeks AFTER they took my cerclage out because I was having TOO many contractions... due to pregnancy induced hyper tension.
I think I was so sure DS was going to come early because DD did... I had had PTL with her from about 24-26 weeks, and she ended up coming at 30 weeks. She weighed 3lbs 8oz and did 5 weeks in NICU. She only had a respirator for an hour (and it was probably because they gave me demorol during labor because they thought I was crazy when I said I had to push... if they would have looked she was crowning!!) and O2 for less than 24 hours. She was there to learn how to suck/swallow/breath all at the same time, and to grow. She did have apnea and bradyacardia (mostly when eating which we later found out was strongly related to her Gastro Intestenal Reflux)  and developed a grade 1 brain hemmorhage (nothing came of this... they watched it and it resolved on its own) and came home on a heart and apnea monitor until she was 7 months old.
Now she is a beautiful 12 year old little girl!! A cheerleader, basketball player, involved in GO Green club, who gets all A's and B's!!! (Can you tell I'm a proud mama! LOL) She does have asthma (it runs in her dad's family) and did have to have 2 eye surgery's for lazy eye muscles (this may also be hereditary). She has a major astigmastizm in her right eye, and a minor in her left which are corrected just fine by glasses, and she can wear contacts (maybe in another year or 2 when she proves she can at least keep her room clean LOL) and get lazer eye surgery if she chooses when she gets older. She also has Kidney Reflux... but they don't think that this has anything to do with her prematurity, and its pretty minor. Controlled right now by preventative antibiotics.

My nephew was also a premie... a 34 weeker. He went home from the hospital with his mom (Dr allowed her to stay an extra day... so they were there 3 days), he did end up going back and doing a short stay for jaundice, but other than that he is a perfect 14 year old!

(((HUGS)))) Hang in there mama!! You are doing great!! I think its so normal for us to worry about PTL ESPECIALLY after we've already had a preemie, but really, from talking to people, I almost think that more of us go on to have Full Term or Over Due babies after having preemies than not.

PS sorry by the way that I can't spell and some of this may have sounded a little like rambling... I was trying to type with my little one climbing all over me! LOL!

Girl, I think you're gunna make it.
I keep getting these weird feelings at night when the night-time contractions start up, "Yeah yeah tonights the night!!" and it never comes. lol

With Ivy I always felt like she was gunna come too soon but lookit her, she didn't wanna come out so the docs hadda MAKE her come out! lmao

I think even though you feel he's gunna be preterm, that he's gunna make it to full.

I also think that because you had TJ so early that it just that fear that's making you feel like that.
I always felt that Ivy was gunna be early cuz I always had assholes like my mom's bf and other people that were mad at me during that real bad stay up in Mass with Josh, they were all like, "That baby's gunna come out preterm and all f*cked up!!"
And I started to believe it.
But I ended up 8 days over due and she's absolutely gorgeous!!

I personally haven't had a preterm baby but my sister-in-law has. Her baby was 6 weeks early and all that happened was she was in a humidicrib in the neonatal ward. She was healthy just small. I think the problems are mainly underdeveloped lungs and not being able to feed properly. They are also at a higher risk of jaundice.
