Wondering..

Why is it bad to sleep on your back during pregnancy?

The artery that supplies blood to your lower body and uterus runs along your spine. The weight of your uterus pressing on it can cause your blood pressure to drop. If you lay on your back and feel fine I wouldn't worry about. I'm 31 weeks and toss and turn so much. If I get comfortable on my back that is how I sleep.

There's a main artery that can get pinched due to the weight of the baby and the uterus laying on it. That's why.

It's a blood circulation thing I guess, and as ur baby gets bigger it'll put more pressure on ur spine, and sleeping too long on ur back might even cause dizziness and in extreme cases fainting.. according to an article I read. Im by no means an expert.  Take care.

Bad coz when u sleep on your left side baby might get proper supply of oxygen. And during your third trimester your babies weight may have a major pressure on your spine causing you dizziness. Generally u can sleep on your back until u reach 27th week
