afraid of labor

I'm a ftm and I'm 28 weeks, I'm so scared of the idea of going through labor. Any advice?

There's no reason to be afraid. I'm 31 weeks and 3 days and a ftm and I'm not afraid at all, I'm actually really excited for labor. Millions of women give birth every year, our bodies are made to carry babies and give birth. It'll be painful but it's worth it for our little ones to be here. Try to relax everything will be fine:)

I would massively suggest reading Inna Mays guide to child birth, the first half of the book has a collection of women who have given their natural birth stories and theyre just amazing!! make me cry im so excited to give birth, im 19years old and due in 10 days and all my anxiety about birth has gone :)

You will be fine try not to panic. Remember that every pain is closer to holding your baby. The pain instantly goes once baby is born (well you forget about it) don't stress yourself out as you will only tire yourself out and make it harder. Try to breath and don't be listening to anyone who says how bad it is as labour is different for every mum and everyone has a different pain barrier.. best of luck with everything x

I had pre-eclampsia with my first. My doctor sent me from her office to the hospital by ambulance. I cried more on my way to the hospital than any other time. Once I was there and knew I wouldn't be leaving without my baby being delivered a strange peaceful feeling came over me. The anxiety faded away! I had to get an epidural and I'm glad I did. It helped a lot with my BP and fear of the pain. My point is you're a mom and mom's are incredibly strong! Our bodies are built for this. You got this! :) p.s. contractions hurt worse than pushing (at least in my opinion!) And I loved my birthing experience. Not nearly as bad as people make it out to be! Good luck and congrats! :)

It's so easy it's like working out. If you get the epidural you won't feel anything at all. Nothing. Feels like a little poop. Don't be scared at all!

I watched a bunch of labor videos and it helped calm me down tremendously. Maybe it'll help you.

Pain is temporary, in the end it'll all be worth it.

What ftm isn't scared? I recently gave birth & it wasn't as bad as I thought, just know when the moment comes don't freak out & panic, it'll make things worse. Also with every contraction take deep breaths, don't hyperventilate or have like a panic attack or you'll feel them worse. Just try your best to relax & be calm, pain is just pain, is

Just know that most of all women are scared and most of all women in the world go through it. It's not at all as scary as everyone makes it seem. It was truly my favorite part of pregnancy. Just breathe, and know that once you get closer and closer you'll be ready for it to happen and once it happens you'll be excited to experience it again! You'll do just fine, it's a miracle (: good luck and congrats!
