I'm Having A Boy && Deciding 2 Have it Done Too - Why Wait So Long ?. And Yes it Will Be More Painful The Longer You Wait - I Agree With You Jazzlee !.

Its pretty easy to take care of. Just put the Vaseline on every diaper change. The hospital gave us some gauze to put on it as well for our first son so it didn't stick to the diaper or anything. As for bathing, I'd stick to giving him a sponge bath until it looks okay or if the doctor okays it. It should heal up in about a week. But honestly he shouldn't need to be bathed all that much. Unless he spits up or something on himself. Its better for their skin not to bathe them more than a few times a week.

I honestly don't feel that their comments were rude , but I do agree that the questions the first poster stated should have been left out maybe . I am planning on having my son circumcised , his dad is circumcised & I don't want to wait to do it. I am having the surgery done right after I have him . What if one day he grows up to ask why is his genitals different from the others? & then you have to go out of your way to pay to have it done . I honestly don't understand why ppl act like they don't know about infections & germs as well . I don't want to have to pull back his foreskin to clean it . . . It looks painful especially with them being a baby. . . But, everyone will have their own opinions so watch out girly!!! Also I would keep water away from that area just so it can stay as dry as possible & only moisturize it as needed . It really needs to heal, water may make the healing process longer.

I think like religion circumsicion is a touchy subject. Me and my boyfriend haven't decided yet but it's not logger medically necessary and there is risks and benefits to both side. I don't think she meant to be rude but simply wanted to know why you chose to it and it's your choice mama! If you have questions like that you could ask your doctor

I hate this subject cuz everyone gives there opinion like SHUT UP who cares what u think she's not asking u if what she did was wrong are right she's asking how to bath him rolfobecca

If your sponge bathing go ahead and keep doing that just avoid cleaning where it still looks sore.  I waited a week before giving full baths after having my boys circs done.  Make sure to keep putting vaseline in the front of the diaper to keep it from sticking and hurting.  After a week both of my boys were pretty much fully healed.

Thank you. Im terrified to even touch it. As soon as i lay him on the changing table he starts to cry because he knows im about to change him. I hate that i had to wait until he is almost a month but any way i guess ill just call his dr and ask him. I thought i had asked all my questions but it must have slipped my mind

So i guess ill ask again about cleaning and bathing my son. He still has his umbilical cord so im not submerging him in water yet so i give him a sponge bath every 2-3 days. So should i continue doing that or wait until he is healed? Please keep your personal preferences to yourself and just try to help with answering the question please

I waited about a week to give my son a full bath. U ntill then I just done a sponge bath. I would clean it first then with a different rag I would wash his body. I would ask the dr it's been 4 yrs since I had to do it. Good luck.

I know right. You were asking a question about bathing and they felt the need to put their opinion in. Some ppl should just keep to them selves

This isnt a do you agree with what ive done post.??? This is obviously a post for moms who have already gotten there sons circumcised and gone through what she has shes asking for advice not to be judged for the decision for HER SON. I love this app but OMG some of judgmental ppl and woman who act like they HAVE TO criticize on any and everything really raise my hormones to another level lol. Best of luck to you mama I hope you get your answers:)

Amen sister!! (: this site is supposed to be for support and help but the ladies on here are so mean. I've stopped asking some questions because it's not worth my time to be told I'm dumb for thinking otherwise or etc... -_- lol. But when it comes down to it it's all up to the parents what they're little man looks like down yonder! Lol but any who I do agree people need to keep mean comments to themselves.

@syddie95 THANK YOU!! I hate that people are so rude.. If they feel angered or some type of way about it they just need to NOT comment! I personally commend all mothers that are getting their baby boys circumcised it really is the healthier choice!!

It's a lot more difficult and WAY more expensive for men to do it than for you to just get it done...it's healthier for them meaning less infections. My husband is not circumsized and he hates it. He said our son WILL be. I'm not arguing cause it does indeed need to be done I do agree with your decision personally...but a lot of people on here are critical and mean about it.

@roflbecca actually its a lot more clean and lowers the risk to Almost none for infections and when u do it while they are a Baby is better because they don't remember it whatsoever and its not like it doesn't heal pretty quick if u wait till they are older its a lot more painful...everyone is entitled to their own opinion and in mine I think it's very important to get them circumcised for the best interest in the baby

Just a question but why did you feel it needed to be done? So it would be aesthetically pleasing? I don't plan on having my child circumcised because its not necessary. I'd rather let then decide to do that when they're older. If they want to.
