Hi! i had the mirena coil fitted october 2009. I had a bleed (as i thought a period) on 2nd of april 2010, i had a few pregnancy symptoms but thought it was the hormone from the IUD. I did a pregnancy test on friday 7th may 2010 and i am pregnant!! the coil fell out during my period, and i had no idea. apparently you are fertile as soon as it leaves your body. I recon i must have ovulated on the 16th April.
I never noticed it fall out or anything, i normally check for the strings, but the strings dissapeared Feb 2010, so i went for a ultrasound scan, it was still there, low and behold a month later it falls out!
Hope all my waffling helps! haha
let us know how you go on!

I had the mirena in for 5 months and had sex apparently it was a little too rough and i showered after and checked my iud because i felt something weird and realized it had fallen out.. i called the clinic and they said to get the morning after pill and begin immediately using back up birth control until i could get it replaced. so yes there is a possibility.
