Where i am from (a small town in Ontario Canada) we pre register at the hospital in advance so all your information is ready and you dont need to be answering questions like confirming your postal code and phone number while in labour. They do a tour then and show You where to go if you are in labour and where the bathroom, fridge etc is. They also show you some of the tools they use in case they need to use them. Like the forceps and the incubators. They ask lots of questions about what you want during your labour so if you say you do not want an epidural the nurses will remind you of that if you start asking for drugs. That way they know what your intentions were at least and can judge from there. I think they have us pre register at 33 weeks or so. Cant remember. You should definately Take a tour and bring hubby with you since you likely will not remember whete to go when the time comes!
My hospital called me and asked if I would like some helpful information
It is usually something you schedule your self through the hospital. The hospital usually has a set day that they do tours on once or twice a month. Just call your hospital for more information! :)
I had to schedule my own tour of the hospital
I had to call and set up an appointment (:
They usually do a tour of the hospital on weekends where I live. But it's not by the doctor. It's free, you just have to call and ask.
