Birthing Class ALONE?

Im so nervous to be going alone.. Has anyone else gone alone and how has it went for you?
I spoke the the "professor" and she said it is going to be VERY difficult, so that didn't reassure me AT ALL. Please a word of advice or something to calm me down and be ready to go at it alone.

I had my birthing class today.. I wasn't the only single mom there. But I must say this, I took a Human Sexuality class last semester, and everything in the class today I already learned in that class. It was a waste of money.

Many women do it without partners, will you be giving birth alone, besides the doctor? If so, then it's good practice to do it alone, as you'll be doing it alone in the delivery room. It was a GREAT class in my opinion, it taught me many things, especially in emergency scenarious, like loss of H/B of the baby during delivery, what they would be doing, and I would understand and not be as scared. I always thought, oh I'll have a perfect delivery, no complications, and I ended up with an emergency c-section because they lost his H/B and that class made me understand what they were doing it, and why they were doing it when they were rushing me to the O/R, I really recommend it, who cares if you're alone, and who cares if someone doesn't like you not having a partner, you're going to be prepared to the best of your abilities! Good luck!!

My mom and I do not get along well at all, so thats a no go. All my friends are back at school so none of them can go. The baby's father isn't involved so he wont go either. As for other family members they wont because they think my mom should be the one there. And no I do not have a birthing partner.

I think when people see you in class alone you will get more support then you ever expected by the other women and their partners.  I think the birthing class is going to benefit it you tremendously with or without a partner.  Good luck keep us updated!

Don't u have a friend or family member who can go with you? Does that mean you don't have a birthing partner?
