back to work early?

I posted this in another forum but I really want to hear lots of experiences. Are there any mummys on here who are or did go back to work when their baby was only about 8wks old? Where I am we get 12mths unpaid leave here and most people take it. Its really not 'the done thing' to put your 8wk old into daycare but our situation has changed and I can't see any other way. I'm really upset about it and already getting a bit of criticism over it just for considering it :-(

Baby will be fine, just do your research and you'll be fine.

Thanks ladies :-) I would love for my mum to take him but she lives over an hour away and works herself. I am sad about it but really feel that this makes sense to me and its only 3 days a week.

Try to find a daycare that only takes infants and babys under a year old or a daycare that has a seperate building this way your baby is getting the full attention they need.

Ill be going back to work about 2months after ... But luckily i have family to watch him, forget the people who are criticizing thats your situation, you do what you need to do. As for daycare id suggest visiting many places, interviewing them and even asking to speak with parents who have their children enrolled there that way they can discuss with you on a more personal level how they truly feel about that day care. Best of luck :)
