bassinet VS crib

So I've been thinking and well, what's your opinion on wether or not to get a crib right away. I already have a bassinet and thought I'd just use that for the first couple of months and then get a crib. Help!! :) First time mommy by the way.

We got a crib for our daughter, my husband and I are going to be first time parents ♡ I am 28 weeks and 5 days♥ but we are also getting a bassinet so the baby can be easily wheeled around with me if sleeping and so she can sleep in it right next to me the first month! But we are also going to have a pack n play... lol I guess we are just getting everything :D

We bought a crib for my Lo. She hates it! She is only 3 weeks old and has not used it once. Newborns like to feel snug and swaddled. Im hoping by her 6 months she will be using it. A bassinet will be just perfect im the meantime.

I have a bassinet and crib but I'm definitely using a bassinet for the first couple of months because I've heard to much about SIDS and I just don't want to take a chance.

Im pretty tight on money as well, so I think I'm just gonna go with a bassinet for awhile and then work on getting the crib later on. There's already so much stuff to get, I'm so excited. I honestly think that my baby will sleep with me at first as well. :)

I have a play pen and the crib, at night she sleeps in my bed I just couldn't leave her in her room by herself in the crib; and the play pen I tried the first couple of nights to have her co-sleep with us in her play pen but I was just too worried that something could happen and I wouldn't hear her. So now she sleeps with us and I love it. Just wish I wouldn't had bought the crib because she really doesn't use it :-/ and the play pen came in handy when I'm downstairs doing something in the kitchen or cleaning, etc.

We have a Pack n Play that we plan on using for the first few months. We'll be getting a crib too for later on but we're struggling so it gives us a little more time to save up for a crib.

Im getting both because a friend is lending me her bassinet, her baby will be to big for it by the time I have mine! I wanted both though so the baby can sleep in my room at night and still get used to being in her room and her own bed other times.

Exactly what I was thinking. Thought I'd wait on the crib until baby was actually big enough to fit in it safely and comfortably. Thanks :)

Yeah unless you plan on getting a crib that converts into toddler then twin or full bed it really is a waste of money unless of course you plan on having more kids in a year or so, then you can reuse the crib.

I actually never bought a crib. I got a pack n play for my daughter and that's what I also got for my son. My daughter stayed in hers until she was big enough to be in a toddler bed which I put her in around 18 months. It saves on space and money. Just an option. Good luck! :)
