bleeding

hi after haveing the contreceptive implant in my arm for neary 3 years my husband and i wanted to try for another baby i had it removed and we started trying after six weeks i did a home pregnancy test and it came back posertive we wer over the moon in all i did 6 tests and they all came back posertive. a week later i started bleeding i went to the hospital they did test and they all came back negertive they also did a blood test wich also came back as a (3) wich means it was negertive i bled so very heavy that day and thair was so many clots but i still dont understand what has happend can anyone please help ?

hi my mate had the same problem as u after having hers taken out she also feel pregnant but she lost hers when she went to the doctors the doctor had told her because the implant was her form of protectio it would have taken months for her body to get back to normal her body was able to carry a child after the implant because she was using the implant her hormone levels didnt rise enough for her to carry a child this might have happend to u try again in a few months it might work she waited six months and is now having a healty baby boy if u wait for the levels to go up u will be able to concieve good luck hope u have a baby soon xxx

If you took 6 pregnancy tests, and they all came back positive, it sounds to me like you may have had a miscarriage.  That would be consistent with the heavy bleeding.  Once the pregnancy stops developing, it stops producing  pregnancy hormone, which could explain why your pregnancy test was negative at the hospital.  We often refer to this type of pregnancy as a chemical pregnancy.  Back in the days before the super sensitive home pregnancy tests, people would have just thought that their period was late.  Now we know that many many people lose very early pregnancies.  It is actually a good sign though, that your fertility has returned.  After using an implant, that can sometimes take up to 18 months.  Its a good possibility that you will get pregnant again very soon!
