breastfeeding

My baby was born on November 2. I breast fed him for the first day and then stopped. He was fed about 4 times. I did not have any time to breast feed, so I have been giving him formula. I want to breast feed him now, When I pump, I only get about 10 mL between both breasts. Is it too late to start nursing him? What can I do to increase my supply?

The best tip I have is to make sure the whole nipple is all the way in baby's mouth not just the tip because if it's not it will eventually hurt very badly and get scabby and raw. If that does happen they have nipple cream st the store in the baby section.

No it's not too late. Just keep nursing him more frequently and inbetween nursing pump. Its going to be tough and alot of work but it's supply and demand type of thing. The more your body thinks he wants by pumping in between the more it will produce.

Fenugreek, blessed thistle, lactation cookies (google the recipe) and oatmeal (not the instant kind)
