Ive been breast feeding for nearly 22 weeks! Its amazing.. i get to sit n spend quality alone time with my daughter. Plus other benefits are its free and ready made and warmed!! When out n about its much easier to whip a boob out than to faff n sort a bottle. It did hurt in the begining, purely because i wasnt used to someone suckin on my nipples every couple of hours lol i just used lanolin cream for a couple of days after every feed n it was fine....
Be prepared to feel like a cow lol at first it felt like she was always feeding lol i was determind to breast feed because its free and it means no one else can take her from me lol xx good luck xx

Yes it can be a little painful to start with but if you experience pain through incorrect latching then you can get nipple Sheilds and creams to help while you both learn to get it right

My mom breastfeed all three of her kids and she says its a wonderful experience. Personnal bonding time between baby and momma. She said its completly different from when a guy plays with ur boobies lol if it hurts, i think its cuz the baby isnt latching on properly. I say give it a go :) youll know if its for u or not. Like some ladies already said, there can be bleeding and scabs. You can also can in ur closest hospital and ask for help too. Nurses will help and one of them should be able to show u a way that works for u :)

I spoke with my hospital's lactation consultant and she said they may be tender, but never should be sore. If they are sore, then the baby is not latching correctly. I'm hoping I have my baby while the consultant is at the hospital so she can help me make sure the baby is latching correctly. I believe most hospitals have lactation consultants now.

My daughter is 9 days old and I am breastfeeding and supplementing with similac advance because she latches on perfectly fine and drinks my milk perfectly fine but is still hungry afterward and the doc said she could just need more milk than what I'm making so I let her feed off each breast until she unlatches herself (usually about 5 to 10 mins per breast) and if she is satisfied that's that but if not then I make her a 1 oz bottle and that usually satisfies her. I don't think breastfeeding is bad it doesn't hurt me I just wish I didn't have to formula feed and breastfeed but its what's best for my lil girl so it needs to be done :)

It hurt a lot for me the first couple weeks with my first, my nipples bled and scabbed.  im not sure if she wasnt latching right, or if I just had sensitive nipples.   But i was determined and toughed it out, it stopped hurting after about a week and a haf to two weeks, then we git a routine, everything got easier.  I loved it, nursed all 3 of mine to past a year.  Get lanisol lotion for your nipples, you can use it before and after baby nurses, that will help.  If your determined you can do it (in most cases at least) it just takes a bit for your body and baby to adjust, then its pretty much smooth sailing.

Hun i think in most cases it hurt. It gives you cramps at first and your nipples do hurt. Once you get a perfect latch and your nipple toughen its worth it. Its a bonding experience you cant get again. The comfort it gives my daughter is worth any pain it caused. If you go into it determined and expect a bumpy road at first it will happen. You can do things before like rub you nipple firmly with a cloth in the shower every day ( yes it hurts but it toughens them) and own a tube if lanohlin(im not sure how to spell it) and aply after every time you feed. Youll do amazing and you baby will thank you!

Iv only been doin it for a little over 3wks and its been totaly fine. It hurts a little to start with but doesnt last long. Once they hav latched on properly its fine. U wonder if ther getin enough but believe me they do. My little man has gained a pound each week. It can be demandin but if ur determend then u can do it.
