brown spotting and very light cramping @ 9 weeks pregnant.

I started having light brown spotting about a quarter sized or a lil more every few hours or so since last night. its all brown, theres no bright red, and its very light. I started having very light cramping this morning. I have had 3 miscarriages and 2 live births, and I am concerned that this may be another loss. I cant get to the doctor until tuesday because of the 3 day weekend. But i have a sonogram appt. wednesday? I dont wanna rush to the ER for nothing, should i just wait until wednesday? I've read a lot about old blood, new blood, heavy and light and when to be concerned.. ect, but everyone i read basically says, theres no difinitive answer until you see your doctor!  Anyone else experienced this? My husband says he remembered me having this with our second child? I dont remember that... Maybe its nothing? Maybe I should be seen just in case? Any advice/similiar experiences? I would appreciate your input, at least to put my mind @ ease until I can get to my doctor.
Thanks- ~Lisa

to everyone who offered advice:

Thanks so much for your input, unfortunatly, I did miscarry the baby.. This morning was more definate it was heavy flow, and lots of cramps. I guess each person has different experiences with thier pregnancy and each pregnancy is so different its hard to determine without a doctor or U/S. I know theres nothing the doctor could've done anyway because I wasnt very far along. Anyway, Just wanted to say thanks for everyones support. It was scary, but Im glad its just over, and I know for sure now. Well, I guess when its when to be, it will happen. Until then I will jsut enjoy my time with my boys.. It goes by so fast, and I dont wanna forget what I already have to be grateful for! Thanks again! and best of luck in all your pregnancies and deliveries!!!!

Im really sorry this is happening to you.. I hope its not the miscarriage though I would find it hard to be hopeful in your circumstances...  Cramps and red blood are definitely concerning.. I hope that the doctors might soon be able to find some answers for you...   ... Im so sorry, my heart breaks for you in all honesty.

Ugh, this morning, woke up with bad cramps.. red blood on my pad, (sorry if tmi) but still  lighter than what i would expect for a miscarriage or period.. A little worried because its not brown anymore, and the cramps are increasing in pain. I believe im in the beginning of miscarrying, theres no way to tell for sure.. I have to go to the doctor. My husband works a half day today, so when he gets home, Im going to the dr. Ouch! This *****. But I guess when you've had more miscarriages than births, you get used to this happening. IDK WTF is wrong with me.... why my babies dont survive.. The doctors can find nothing wrong besides ovarian cysts... but both my pregnancies that resulted in a baby, were horrible and constant work on my and the dr's part to keep them in there. Well, Im leavin it in god's hands. Whatever is meant to be, I can accept it. I am just extra thankful for my two handsome boys. wish me luck : * (

ok, well thats reassuring. I know i've been going and going like crazy this week, and havent really had time to relax. With back to school and 2 kids, plus i have a daycare in my house, im just constantly going, cleaning, chasing kids, ect... Hopefully the 3 day weekend with provide me a lil time to relax and everything will be ok. Thanks for responding!!

This would be my first conogram, and maybe thats why im a little more nervous. Because up until this point we havent actually seen that the baby is ok. My last miscarriage was at 4 1/2 months and at the ER they found that the baby had no heartbeat. But i had horrible, sudden cramping and lot of bright red blood. Like 2 periods put together. This is wayyy different. Light spotting, and light cramping. And i still have all my pregnancy symptoms. Hunger, tender breasts.. ect, with the other miscarriages, I had stopped having symptoms either a day or two before or right as the miscarriage happened. I did help some friends move recently, and I have been running around like a chiken with my head cut off this week. Maybe stress related? ughh, i just hate not knowing. I think i will wait until Wednesday unless i start heavily bleeding, because I know your right, even if i am miscarrying, they will just send me home and give me a DNC in a few days.. Theres nothing they can do... Why stress myself out, if its nothing... THANKS FOR RESPONDING!!

As you have read, there is no definite answer until sonogram is done..  Have you had one previously or would this be the first one?

In my first pregnancy at around 11 weeks, I was out at an event and when I went to the washroom, I had some crusty brown blood on my panties... it was about a quarter in size.. I had nothing else..  Of course I was freaked out but I had an ultrasound scheduled for 4 days later so I decided to wait it out...  I was diagnosed with a blighted ovum at the ultrasound.. I had no other indications that something was wrong..

Whenever people say brown blood is nothing to worry about,. its true, it totally could be nothing or it can be a sign that something is not right... It seems to go equally to either way.... for now, I would try not to worry about it unless its turns bright red or the cramping gets bad...

The reality is there wouldnt be much that they could do to prevent a miscarriage at this point so a trip to the ER may just confirm something a little sooner.... On a positive note, if the ER showed a healthy fine baby then you can have peace of mind all weekend...

I dont know what would be the right choice....  But if you do chose to not get it checked out because yo udo have an ultrasound coming up...  Take it easy today, keep your feet up, and drinks lots of fluids!

Im sorry you are going through this and hope yours is one of those many situatiosn where Brown blood is old blood and means nothing!
