I think it was about 2-3 weeks for me. I struggled to get in and out of chairs and my bed. My partner had to make a makeshift bed cos ours was too low to the ground and I really couldn't get out of bed by myself. I'm from the uk and I had dissolvable stitches. It healed up real good. But you must must must take it easy!!

@lovemyboys2 - do you mind telling me what country your in?

I'm in Ireland and after cs you must stay five days and have staples or stitches removed.

What is surgical glue?  (Sounds much better)
I'm hoping for vbac but if I've a second cs I want to go home asap not five days + later X

agreed coughing and pooping hurts. after 3 days in the hospital and my first day home i was up cleaning my house. i was back to nowmal real fast. ask the doctor to use surgical glue to close you up. gou heal really well and dont have to go back to get the staples taken out. ive had 2 c-sections and you cant even see my scar anymore. good luck

I was in so much pain before c section I was really good after it... day after section & transfusions I was flying round in a wheelchair.  That night I was walking

coughing and pooping were the hardest things to do! Because the muscles. .

I had staples removed after five days and went home at 7/8days postpartum (we were very ill )

but usually you go home after five days :)

I'm still numb around my scar - anyone else??

I'm currently 4 weeks postpartum I'll say by the 2nd week you'll be feeling like yourself but still have to take it easy
