Yes, it's possible, but it has only happened in the case of close relatives (in other words, when a mother does this for her daughter). If you are not through menopause yet, you're still a candidate. Talk to a reproductive endocrinologist about the details.
I think that is the ultimate gift you can give someone trying to have a family. i watched One Born Every Minute on Lifetime tuesday night and there was a surrogate carrying a child for a couple from Sweden. You would need to speak with a surrogacy group. They'd screen you and you'd have to fill out all the appropriate paperwork and undergo their tests. I would ASSUME that a menopausal woman could not be a surrogate but technology is pretty amazing. I'd set up an appointment or at least call and ask over the phone.
