Good Day.
My soon-to-be wife has this rare case/condition.
On January 1, 2009, she suffered a mild stroke. Her left arm and her left leg were paralyzed and she was only 23 years old then. It was really shocking for me to know this. And according to the findings at the hospital (MRI), there is a narrowing area in a vein somewhere in her head and it is connected between her brain and her heart. She was able to recover from that condition but since then she has been taking medicines to lower her blood pressure. She also went through this treatment for that narrowing vein and until now it is still unclear whether that area is okay or not. And she never had time to go for another MRI.
What concerns me now is that since she's taking these medicines now, will there be a chance for her to give birth or to bear a child?
My mom once consulted a doctor about this rare case and she said there may be medicines that she can take as substitute to the ones she is currently taking.
So how do women with high blood pressure cope during pregnancy? Do they take special medicines during pregnancy?
