confused, please help... hpt vs clinical test

Ok ladies, here it goes...  My last period was on March 22nd, I am two weeks & 1 day late.  Have taken two hpts, both positive.  Went to the Health Department yesterday & their test came back negative.  The nurse however did tell me that I should be atleast 3 weeks late before taking a test there.  I have very tender breast, bad headaches, occasional nasua, hightened sense of smell. etc.  I believe that I am pregnant & that the hpt test were both accurate, but now part of me is kinda doubting if I really am.  Any insight would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the help.  I plan on taking one more hpt in the morning.  I've already been taking it easy.. laying off the caffeine, eating healthy, staying off the waverunner, etc.  I'm trying not to stress over it, I guess it just broke my spirits when the nurse said negative.  She did say that I needed to probably be further along though to get a positive, so I guess that's a good thing.  It just made me wonder if the brand of hpt I took was inaccurate.  Anyway, thanks again.

Thanks.  I used an hpt from the Dollar Tree, everyone told me they are the most sensitive.  I got really excited after 2 positive results with the hpt, and I was ecpecting a positive at the clinic as well.  I guess it is just a little nerve racking & I was really hoping to get a conformation yesterday.  I am going to take another hpt in the morning.

Most hpt are pretty sensitive. I don't know what brand you used, but I would say they are probably right. If you want to know 100% for sure, then call your dr and see if they will do a blood test. Even your primary care dr can do this or is you already have an OB then they can do it as well. Best of luck.
