does my baby eat what ever i swallow

I've had a.cold.for over a week now and I have all mucas on my vest can't cough or bring it up so I just HAV to swollow it bk down does my baby get it? My 12 weeks. Also I get so ill at night my eyes sting my head bangs I get hot an bothered feel so tiered . But always at night?

Clysta has a good point. Something to include is that the only good thing that is coming out of your cold is that you are actually giving your baby antibodies. So good things do come out of a crappy cold!

No. Babies don't eat in the same manner we do. For example, when we swallow something it goes into our stomach which is then broken down and passed through the rest of our body and then out as waste. The baby adsorbs nutrients through the placenta and cord from the mothers body but does not take in the actual item itself. This is why you have to be very careful with everything you put into your body, because it also goes to the baby. For example, smoking, poor eating habits, medicines, drugs, etc etc. Other things like saliva, mucous, etc etc are passed through our body and the baby gets none of it.
