Yes!I wanted to try a natural birth but I tensed up so much from the pain during my contractions I could barely dialate. Once I got my epidural I could still feel my contractions but didn't feel any pain. I fully dialated and had my daughter a few hours later. (It probably would have been sooner, but I relaxed so much I actually fell asleep for awhile)

It worked for about an hour with me and then they ended up just giving me Demerol through my IV instead.

I was told that yes it helps with the pain my friend said she didn't feel anything but it's not good my grandma friend said it permanently messed hee back up I was also told that if you move the wrong way or something you can be messed up for life try going naturally the pain will be worth it in the end.

An epidural should block the pain completely. If it doesn't, you can get more either by a button yourself or the anesthesiologist. That being said, SOME people it doesn't work as well on; but it's not common.
