There are lots of studies if you google it that says there is no proof that fetal heart rates are linked to gender. plus it depends on the site that you look at, some say over 150 its a girl and under its a boy others are the opposite.  I think thats why it doesn't really work to go by the heart rate.

  My dr told me that he wanted to see the heartbeat between 140-160 and I'm always around that 150 mark.

I was 169 when i first went to the dr but the HB has seemed to stay around 152 now that im a lil bit farther!

No. The heartbeat will vary from 100-180 BMP in early pregnancy, and 100-160 BPM as the pregnancy progresses. It will be higher during periods of high activity and lower during moments of rest. I have a girl and her HB was always 120-140.
