forced VBAC? ????

I had a c section 7 months ago, I am currently 10 weeks pregnant. At my first prenatal appointment my long time obstetrics surgeon told me I'd get a scheduled repeat c section because the ultrasound showed a complicated healing of my scar tissue along with many other factors that makes vbac dangerous for me. Because of some things that make me high risk I had to switch doctors. I saw my new doctor yesterday morning and she told me there is no option to do a repeat c section and I am going to be forced to vaginally deliver. I am not comfortable with doing vbac at all and she only asked me a few questions before deciding. Should I switch doctors or what??? Finding a doctor to take me on as a patient was hard enough.

The problem is that I have an aortic coarctation. When I was 9 I had a metal stent placed in the descending part of my aorta to keep it open. So I have a tricky congenital heart defect history that most OBGYN do not want to touch. I also have a history of hypertension and eclampsia associated with seizure. So when I mention this to any new doctor they immediately tell me to find a specialist and that they won't do it. The only specialist aside from the doctor I have now is six hours away and that's not realistic for when and if I go into early labor or develop eclampsia again. So I have to try and work with a doctor here where I live to be able to do anything. I didn't mean to get pregnant again so close to my last pregnancy but things happen I guess lol

I would definitely look into other options! I wouldn't think it were safe to have a vbac so soon after c section. Usually the doctor will give you a choice of what you want to do. You always need to feel comfortable with the doctor you are seeing if not your still really early in your pregnancy you have plenty of time to find another doctor

I am definitely going to be asking more questions because the more research I do on it the more it becomes obvious that it's not safe for me

My doctor told me to do a vbac there has to be two things at the hospital so it seems to me the hospital has to be able for you to try

I wish I could find a Dr that will allow me to have a vbac I had a c-section 5 years ago and I want to experience a vaginal birth but it's hard finding a Dr that will allow me to. I honestly do not think it would be safe to have a vbac so soon after a c-section I would definitely look for another dr

That's awful, is good they're encouraging vbacs but to try and force you into doing it is really unprofessional..I would not stay with that doctor

That's a good idea I hadn't thought of. I'm going to look into that. Thank you!

Don't switch doctors yet but I would schedule another appointment with another doctor just to get a third opinion.
