gestational sac... no fetus :(

So the other day I went to the ER because I was bleeding and cramping. So I get to the hospital and they do blood work and ask lots of questions. So I. The midst of the testing being done the ultrasound tech comes in and proceeds with the ultrasound she spends maybe 25 minutes searching and then she's says I'll get these images to you doctor and hastily leave. 10 minutes later the doctor comes in and says well your beta quant levels are increasing... but slowly and there a gestational sac but the US tech couldn't find anything inside of it.  He then proceeded to say all of the information is conflicting and that I should follow up with ob/gyn. He then also left the toom leaving me absolutely confused so am I pregnant or not? What do I do next my ob/gyn appt is on Thursday but I'm really confused on what everything means

I had that exact same thing happen to me they had me come in everyday for a week to check hormone levels to make sure they were going up and to do ultrasounds because they only seen sac no fetus no heartbeat nothing i was just very early in the pregnancy i thought i was like 8 or more weeks and turned out to be barely 4 or 5 so fetus was not developed yet :-) so you could be just really early and i bleed every month until i was 5 or 6 months 1 or2 a month either having sex or over working and stress but i, 35 weeks 4 days today with no problems

how far along are you?  it could still be to early to see the fetus .Light spotting and cramping is sometimes normal . red blood with clots is usually not .
