hydration iv?

Just got done with my first ob appt and I told the doc I've been really sick. Apparently after taking a pee test theyve determined that I'm dehydrated. I have to have an iv to boost my hydration. Anybody else had to have one? Is this bad? I just now was put on meds to help my nausea.

Ive been in hospital twice fr iv fluids and sickness meds im onli 14 weeks

I have been in hospital five times  already for ivs while on the meds and baby is still developing great. Just try to drink what you can. I hope your stomach settles soon. I am 22weeks now with no end is sight

This is not bad. If you are very sick during your pregnancy its quite common to need IV hydration. Once your nausea meds kick in it'll be easier for you to maintain adequate hydration on your own. I'm hoping to get meds myself when I go on Monday
