in L&D !(:

Im a ftm. Im 40w &+ 3d,
I had been having contractions all night & the next morning too. I timed them & they were 5 minutes apart so i thought this was a GO. When i got to the hospital & they checked me i was only 2 cm dialated. But they wanted to monitor me for awhile. My blood pressure was high so they wanted to keep me a little longer. They had me walk around. They kept checking my blood pressure & finally took blood work & a pee sample. Everything came back normal. Then my blood pressure was good too. Then as they were monitoring me my babys heart beat dropped to 70. This happened twice. so they wanted to keep me longer! after hours of waiting the doctor eventually decided that she wanted to induce me since babys heart rate was dropping & since i was over due. So, they started me on pitocin & when i turned 3cm they offered me pain meds. So, i got the epidural. Kudos to moms who can go natural but the epidural was all for me. i feel so much better! Im in mt happy place lol. & honestly the epidural did not hurt (im a big wuss too) i thought i wouldnt be able to handle it but when i got it i didnt scream or even jump! Matter of fact when they put the catheter in that was the worst part. I actually screamed.

Now, its a waiting game. My little boy will be here sooner then later :D Labor is actually not that bad. Im so greatful &thankful for my boyfriend, family & the lovely nurses at columbia st mary. <3
