induce labor?

How many ways will a doctor induce? I am due March 17th an she said next week I will be 39 weeks if I wanns induce. I told her no I want her to come on her own. If being induced takes 24 hours for the baby to arrive I might go ahead and induce on the 16th so she is here on her due date an I dont have to worry about her being too early kinda thing.

Oh! Then I would schedule it for the 17 or 18th. They will put you on just pitocin and you would probably have your baby in a few hours

I am 3cm dialated ans 70-80% effaced already. I honestly thought she would of been here by now considering my son was ten days early an I was 2cm an 90% effaced with him. I was just wondering on the different methods. I don't want to induce before her due date, but I am ok with after. Assuming I even make it to her due date.

I wouldn't induce the day before my due date unless your cervix was favorable. If your cervix isn't favorite you could have a failed induction. Or it could take days. I was induced at 41 weeks woth a favorable cervix. I was 2 cms and 85% effaced. My baby was born less then 12 hours later and out within we something minuets.

I think there is a few different ways they can induce they first tried to strip my membraines at 38 weeks but didnt work so at 41 weeks they induced me by inserting a bulb to get me to get to 10 cm which it got me to 5cm so the next mornibg they started me on pitocin then i was in labor for 40 hours andended in a c-section. I hope this helps
