It's my first and I'm 38 weeks and 2cm dilated. My Dr doesn't want to induce until 40 weeks but I realllllllly don't want to have my baby in February
it jus depends on ur body i wen i got induced i wasnt dilated at all not even a fingertip and it only took me 5 hrs to get to a 10 && 10 min to push so i got very lucky && it wasmy first(:
I just had a pitocin induction on the 5th because my son was 1.5 weeks overdue. I was in labor 21 hours, finally hit 10, pushed for 2, and had to have an emergency csection due to fetal distress after all of that. It was intense.
I've been induced with my last two pregnancies, and my first induction lasted about 9½ hours and my second was only 5 hours.
Just like any labor, the amount of time it takes is unique to each individual. Some inductions fail to progress just like a non-induced labor and result in a c-section after 12+ hours, others progress very slowly, and sometimes it happens so fast that the doctor barely makes it in the room in time to catch.
Wow I'm hoping my Dr will induce me ill be 39 weeks by that time anyway
I was induced with my first started pitocin at 9am only dialated to a 1 at the point had him at 5 pm after pushing for almost 2 hrs. I think that was pretty fast for not being dialated to start.
Oh wow that is super fast! I'm considering asking my Dr to be induced a week early just because February our family has birthdays literally everyday up until the 14th and I don't want him to share
I think my labor wuld have been very short if ida been induced the entire thing. But they let me slowly dialate i hit a 5 and then stopped dialting and was there for 4 hours. Then they start my pitocin and i dialated suuuuper fast i dialated my last 3 cm in 45 mins!
I think it depends on your body, I was induced with my last preg #3 @6am & he was born @ 11 am! Really fast, hope to repeat this time...
