itchy under the skin

I'm 37 weeks pregnant and I woke up because I had a constant itch in my leg under my skin. I scratched and it didn't help because it felt like it was under my skin and I couldn't sleep. Why is this happening?

My sister had something similar, the OB said she had pregnancy pox. Unfortunately there's not a whole lot you can do about it if you have the same thing. It went away once baby was born. If ask your OB or midwife and see if there are any other possibilities though.
