My labor story
I went in on Monday 3/3 at 7 pm to be induced. I was 3 cm and 60% effaced. At around 2am they put the pill in my cervix to soften it up more. At 530 am they started the pitocen. The doctor came in at 8 and broke my water. At 930 I was 5 cm and decided to get the epidural. From the time I got it up until about 1230 it worked great and I mostly slept. When I woke up at around 1230 I was having a lot of pressure and some pain down there. I was at 9 cm. The pressure and the pain kept getting worse but the nurse kept telling me even with the epidural I'm gonna have a little pain. (Which I know isn't true. I didn't have any pain with my last baby) anyways about 115pm I was at a ten and started pushing. This was the worst delivery experience I've ever had! After 2 and a half hours of pushing and needing oxygen, we finally gave in and agreed to let the doctor use the vacuum to assist. It took one try to get the head and body out with the vacuum and I felt like my insides were being ripped out. I got absolutely no pain relief from the epidural during the whole pushing process. The doctor than saw that I had a slight tear and stiched it up without any novacane :( I also have about 4 hemroids from all the pushing and pulled a muscle in my groin. But I have a beautiful baby boy out of it. Jaxson Raymond marano was born 346pm on Tuesday March 4th 2014. He weighed 8lbs 15oz and was 22 inches long. Aside from some bruising on his head from the vacuum he's prefect! Thanks to all you ladies for your help the last 8 months. Good luck to all of you!
