My wife is pregnant and today she went for ultrasound examination of Pelvis.

the result is

LMP : 20.04.2012  , menstrual age 7 Weeks 1 Days.

the embryonic crown - rump length is 3.1 mm , which corresponds to the gestational age of 5 weeks 6 days.
the embryonic heart rate is 81 beats / min.
the embryonic cardiac activity is well visualized.

the yolk sac diameter is 3.6 mm.

please advise it is safe or some thing happened wrong with the baby.

Ultrasounds in early pregnancy can be off by a week. Also it is common to be a couple days off since implantation can happen at different times after the egg is fertilized. Also if her period is irregular that can throw off when she ovulated. The fact that you saw a heartbeat is encouraging. The only thing you can do is get a repeat ultrasound in a week or two. Also have her levels checked twice in a 72 hour time frame.

Have they ordered hcg blood tests ? Progesterone levels ?my concern is the fetal heart rate its low for that early in pregnancy however miracles happen all the time an obviously don't give up just yet ..I'm sure the drs will keep an eye on your wife and definitely ask about the blood tests if not already ordered ..good luck ..
