Yes it's common. I Was told the same thing in the beginning. I still had sex and held my daughter. And by the next ultrasound it was normal. I Had got all scared too about having a c section too but it fixes itself

I had a low placenta I was told not to have sex not to lift weights and to take it easy....  the next time I had an ultrasound it moved and was up where it was supposed to be. So no worries I'm sure yours will move up to as the baby gets a little bigger

I had the same thing, we were told no sex, no heavy lifting and to rest more, risk of not following the orders out weighs benefits of sex and lifting a ton. Nervous with this one it will be the same thing, but won't know until my next ultrasound.
Good luck, and I think more than not it moves on it's own
